i am thinking it’s a sign

i was just trying to explain badgerbadgerbadger to bill. i thought the sound wouldn’t go ‘cos i have the speakers plugged into my mp3 player so i can listen to Only Rhett Miller All The Time (*sigh of longing*), but i forgot about the laptop speakers … it startled me and i closed the browser to make it stop and i lost the whole giant post i had just written. now i am angry. there is no time to explain. so let me sum up:
i have not posted in the past two weeks because i have been busy spending every waking moment either working on the giant 540 project or working. after we turned in the 109-page final product (really 110 pages, i think, once i added the page i forgot to include when i turned it in) i had to totally shift gears and start trying to analyze a controlled vocabulary. that was difficult as i had spent at least 40 hours on the 540 project between friday night and monday morning, when it was due.
but now it is all over, and i am in eugene eating a bagel and sitting around. yay! i will be here for a couple of days and then we are going to portland until i decide i will die of allergies if i stay in that house another moment, and then on to seattle. it is so nice to have nothing to do, even though my brain feels kind of empty and confused like it did when i finished my thesis. then i felt like i was forgetting something super important that i had to be doing, though, and now i just feel tired and relieved.
on a totally unrelated note, why do people on the bus (esp. men, and esp. old icky men whom i am not interested in touching) feel it’s acceptable to let their arms encroach into my seat? some people, like the nice lady who helped me with the crossword whose arm was in a cast, are allowed to take up the whole armrest and maybe even some of my seat. but unshaven old men with leather jackets with the american flag on the back in green and white (? what does that mean?) are not allowed. ew.
