i finally successfully fed my venus flytrap. when i got home from the requisite amaretto sours ($3 on tuesdays!) at kai’s, i had bugs stuck to my shirt for some reason. i carefully fed them to the plant, who does not have a name yet, though i am taking suggestions. (sho‘s is named luigi but usually called “piranha plant,” because sho is a big geek.) anyway, this is the first time i fed it, and it was very exciting. it didn’t snap shut, but it closed fast enough and tight enough that the bug couldn’t escape. bad picture! better picture! you can even see the bug’s wing sticking out the top! awww. such a cute little vicious plant.
yesterday was adventure-to-fremont day. i got on the bus and then i got off and walked around. i bought some apricots at the market of the revolution and then i ate them. i looooove apricots! then i decided to be brave and walk home along the trail even though i did not know how far it would be. it turned out to only be about 2 miles, i think. it was a nice walk. i saw a tiny puppy chewing on grass, and a big big caterpillar, and i dissected a thing and learned that hazelnuts grow with little sleeves around themselves, and that their leaves are fuzzy and have ruffly edges.

(ps. knitblog updated with pictures!)

(song: “amie,” damien rice. i like that spelling, and also aimee, because they mean things. i was almost named amy but i’m glad i wasn’t. i think i would make a terrible amy.)

  • I find it severally ironic that you have a venus fly trap. After all of the beef (bad pun) that I got over unveggie-tizing, and now you have a plant that tears helpless bugs limb from buggy limb. Personaly, I think you should have picked a venus morningstar-baby-corndog trap, for a plant. much more approrpite.

  • marika!

    fremont!!!

    yay.

hm, i think i might have posted a blank comment. then again, maybe i didn’t. anyway.
