i feel neglectful, tho’ i guess it hasn’t been that long since i posted. i think about posting a lot but all the things i think about saying are whiny and negative. so the theme of today’s (brief, because i need to be working on homework) is Balance.
+ my fun paid summer fieldwork is happening! i am not actually getting paid for the fieldwork part, but they are going to hire me for another, mostly unrelated job at 25 hours a week at the-biggest-hourly-salary-i-have-ever-had, which is sadly pretty small for the grown-up world.
- i did not get the lovely job that would have let me stay. there will be others to apply for, though.
+ i am moving to eugene in a week(ish)!
- i have to move!
+ i learned today that i might be able to get sort of grandfathered in to get residency under the old rules, starting in the fall, so the lack of $15,000+ will hardly be a problem at all …
- and then we talked a little more and the counselor sounded more and more unsure about whether i could really get grandfathered in, so i got my hopes up for nothing. will still apply though.
+ a new thought, though, is that i should just go to school until the money they have given me runs out. so i should be back for fall and perhaps winter.
+ fun spring fling last friday with Too Much Cider. there is much discussion and some pictures here. you might have to click around for the real pictures. ignore my terrible, terrible posture and the extreme blinding whiteness of my legs. if you can.
+ i have found a belgian fry stand in seattle. with real belgian fries and real belgian mayonnaise. this is a terrible and wonderful thing.
yay! theme of balance has been replaced with theme of very slightly positiveness! and making up of words!
(song: “roller skate skinny,” old 97s)
Yay for positiveness and being in Eugene soon. How I miss Roma coffee!
There is a link to a “Get Fuzzy” comic strip on that link you made to your crazy librarian-party.

It was in Sunday’s paper, I actually laughed at it enough that my mom asked after it.
“Buy a guitar, Dieter!” ha! Satchel. It craked me up again. :)
Lauren, silly…Your problem is that you did not ask to be grandMOTHERed, rather than grandfathered. That is where the real power is.
I am excited to see you soon! I just had breakfast with Kate and we were talking about missing Lauren!

I liked Harry Potter, too. I want the sixth book to come out RIGHT NOW.
