so high you can’t see over

i was going to post last night but the internets were broken – o horror! – so i couldn’t. it’s ok though because now instead of two posts in one day, i get to have two days in a row of posting! good for me.

i think i should buy shoes at target more often, because every time i do, something exciting and job-related happens.
last weekend i got a black skirt and these adorable shoes, with the idea that someday, maybe, i’ll have job interviews and things. then on wednesday i got an email from corbis, where i would love to work. i had expressed interest in having an internship when the guy came to speak to my class last term, but he said he wasn’t sure if they would have any positions anytime soon, so i was suprised and very excited to get an email asking if i wanted an interview for a summer internship. i said “don’t you want my resume first?” and they said “oh, sure.” so i spent the day working on my resume. it’s kind of exciting to realize that things are starting to work out the way i want them to – my course list, for example, matches with this sort of job quite well. i’m all full of databases and taxonomies and scary things like “classification theory” and independent studies.
and i have an interview next week, so i get to wear my new shoes. i hope they are magic shoes.
