I took some other photos but they all turned out crappily. So here are some pretty flowers instead.
I worked from home today so we got to go out for a celebratory hangover breakfast of chicken-fried steak. The restaurant is right on the water.
The other picture I took, the one that didn’t turn out, is a boat that’s the same as my dad’s boat, a Pacific Seacraft Flicka, in the same dark green even. It has an Obama sign in the rigging.

Don’t know if you’ve seen this yet or not, but here are some creative urban planters:

Yes! The first picture of your link is on a building near and dear to me, actually; it’s a structure that contains my favorite restaurant in all of Pike Place Market — and all of Seattle, for that matter, I think — Le Pichet. That shot is taken from Virginia Street and Post Alley, I think, and the sign hanging there is for the most excellent Pike Market Medical Clinic, a great clinic that provides health care for the un- and underinsured. The Market also holds annual events* to benefit the clinic, and one can donate to this very worthy cause here.
*OK, I can’t find a good permalink for the Feast at the Market that happens every autumn, benefitting the Pike Market Medical Clinic and other organizations, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
