French dip sandwiches! Made in the crock pot! Extremely loosely based on this recipe, but actually very different.

We used a top round steak (really mostly a roast), and instead of Lipton Onion Soup Mix (?!?!?!!) we ground up some dehydrated onion combined with homemade celery salt (dehydrated celery leaves crunched up and mixed 1:1 with sea salt or kosher salt), and of course we used homemade stock instead of boxed broth. Cook until the meat is falling apart. Remove as much as you like — i.e. strain the remaining jus if you don’t like chunks, but in my opinion it is going to get full of chunks again when you dip your sandwich, so why bother?). Toast buns (we used Macrina brioche burger buns) with swiss cheese if you want, and/or some horseradish. Assemble sandwich and put jus in ramekin and be happy.

Once again we are bad at salad. I feel sad.
