Make you so blue you become mean

I can’t believe I ever wondered why I was swearing so much. We just bought the 2nd season of Deadwood and now I remember.
Cocksuckers.

In the catalog under nothing
It’s very small, and made of glass

Yesterday I registered for the Race for the Cure 5k. I registered for the run, and then I realized that I probably totally don’t want to do that because at my current rate (which admittedly does include stopping for Ruby to pee and poop), it would take me like an hour to run 5k. But it’s in a few weeks, so if I get my act together and actually run more than once or twice a week, maybe I’ll be able to do the run.
I’ll do the walk if I don’t do the run, so if you’ve got spare change lying around, you can donate. $150 buys a mammogram for an un- or underinsured woman who might not get one otherwise. A very kind person gave me $150 already so now I’m kind of hoping to get $300. Someday I’ll have to get a mammogram. It sounds awful. Maybe for two women who have to get them soon and are scared, it will help to know that other people out there are helping them.
My sister turns eighteen today. And next weekend she is graduating from school and then soon she is going off to college in Washington DC. I have seriously mixed feelings but mostly I’m super excited, because she is going to Do Things In The World.
It’s raining here, or else I would tear up my weeds and work on planting my garden. But instead I’m going to go to the movies, and maybe learn to drive.
(Song: “Love Is Like A Bottle Of Gin,” The Magnetic Fields — but a bottle of gin is not like love.)
