Random stuff in the fridge included a bunch of home-cured, home-smoked sliced ham from an island-grown pig (though not ours). G. suggested it might go in a bean soup. I noted that we had no carrots, but a whole bunch of storebought parsnips, then went upstairs to get some stuff done.
