Halal chicken with rice. I used a whole (hg, of course) chicken, parted out — drumsticks, thighs, and breasts all separated. It took longer to cook than I thought. Otherwise I did everything according to the recipe and/or my previous post. It was extremely delicious.

The duck recipe from the other day had called for a 4-ish-lb duck, but I had a nearly-8-lb duck, so I hemmed and hawed about whether to cut it in half and save the other half for something else, or to cook the whole thing and then have cooked duck to go in other recipes. [...]

We went to pub trivia and so we got home late and I was sad and cranky. I had some horrible nacho cheese Doritos at trivia. I had quite an adventure finding HFCS-free buns. A couple of months ago I could [...]

G. made delicious chili with Alvarez Farms pinto beans, Kitsap-grown delicious ground beef, Laughing Crow onions and LC/homegrown garlic, storebought organic chili powder, and a cube or two of homemade [...]

Homemade gourmet sloppy joes!! Made by G.

Kitsap ground beef, Laughing Crow onion, LC/homegrown garlic. Homemade ketchup chutney thing, improvised, since when I made it, I had not a can of diced tomatoes but rather quite a lot of tomato juice left over from canning whole tomatoes. I used the same spices, but to taste [...]

Pretty sure my credit score is going to take a hit as I close a couple of cards with $0 balance and $10k+ limit, and all I get from my new CU is one single card [...]
