I have been eyeing this duck with root veggies and sauerkraut recipe for a while, and I managed to take a duck out of the freezer earlier this week, so I assembled this while G. was at welding college and I worked at home.

What I had for dinner on Monday, October 10, 2011

Kitsap-grown “arm pot roast” (abbreviated “armpot” here at my house) cooked in the Romertopf with some Laughing Crow potatoes and onions, Nash’s carrots, Leapfrog Farm leeks, and homemade hard cider made from storebought Washington organic soft cider. With homegrown/LC garlic from the freezer, sautéed with homegrown kale.

I roasted a homegrown chicken. Thanks, chicken! With salt and pepper, stuffed with homegrown parsley, and basted with butter and parsley butter (hg parsley, storebought butter). Served with … guess! … wait for it … grilled green beans with garlic etc., and corn on the cob, also on the grill.
